When we started our mission work in Kenya,
it felt like our furlough to the United States
was coming home. In our second year, we
noticed that the USA felt more like a visit
and Kenya felt more like home. Now, it is
hard to believe we are heading back to
Kenya to start our fifth year serving God,
our friends, and our family around the globe.
We had a wonderful time through August and September visiting Texas, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, California, and back to Texas. During this time we were able to catch up with our friends, kids, moms, grandma, cousins, and our adopted families along the way. We were encouraged, refreshed, and blessed during this time with our greatest highlights being:
*Friends who welcomed us into their homes and lives greatly encouraged us.
*Cherished time with our family.
*Being able to plug into many church activities.
*The dunk tank at Grand Parkway raising money for Missions
*And of course Whataburger
God has taken us halfway around the world, 10,000 miles away from our US family and friends but He has never taken our hearts away from you all. In fact we feel closer than ever to you as we work together in the Kingdom business of spreading the Good News and serving the people God brings across our path.
As we returned to the US and even more as we depart the Holy Spirit is putting urgency in our hearts. The days we have on Earth are growing shorter and Jesus asked that we know the season in the Last Days. In Matt 24:32-33 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. “The time is near and we as Christians must lay down the fear and anxiety that is plaguing the world today.
Instead, we draw closer to Jesus; with His peace empowering our every move, we are excited to have been trusted to live and serve in these times. If I have any encouragement for you my friends and family, it is this. Draw near to God and hear His direction for you every day. Find the heart of God as He leads and directs you into the abundant life that comes from serving Him. This is one of the most amazing times in history to be a part of the Kingdom of God! Do not let the enemy or world system distract you from the call and mission Jesus created you to live. As we walk through these appointed times walk in the power of His Spirit to be His witness and realize you are the laborers. Jesus said to pray that you be sent to the harvest because the harvest is great, but the laborers are few!
Keep us in your prayers as we travel back to Kenya, and we will be seeing you right here every month as we send updates on Kingdom work.
